The monstrance is a real liturgical object, built to hold a saint's relic where the faithful could see it directly. Sedlec Ossuary took that impulse and built an entire church out of parishioners. This piece sits somewhere between the two: the traditional sunburst rays rendered in bone, with a skull at the center where the relic would go.

Eleven inches, hand sculpted in resin cast with metal powder and hand painted, so it gives tarnished silver by candlelight. Fits a standard taper. The material is UL-rated fire resistant; the flame is still a flame, so don't leave it unattended.
