Haunted Village

Crooked rooftops, lit windows and a main street nobody walks after dark.

Buildings, townsfolk and the odd wandering horror, sized to sit together on a shelf or mantel. You do not need all of it at once. Most villages start with one piece and grow for years.

How to build one

1. Start with a landmark. One tall thing you can see over the rooftops. Wherever you set it down becomes the middle of town. Ours are the Phantom Parcel and Post and the Witch Hollow Watertower.
2. Add buildings. Two or three establishments give your residents somewhere to be going. A bar, a house, something worse: Bigfoot Brewhaus, Skeleton Cottage, the Toads and Frogs Witchcraft Haunt.
3. Populate it. Figures turn a display into a place where something is happening. Igor actually moves. The Scarecrows watch the edge of town.
4. Add landscaping. Trees and fencing. This is the step most people skip, and the reason their village never quite looks finished. Start with a Skeleton Tree and the iron gate and fence.
5. Add tiny details. The things tucked into the gaps that reward leaning in, like the Skull Cairns.
6. Light it up. Last, and in a dark room. Two Femur Bone Street Lights will do more for the village than anything else on this page.

A note on scale. Village makers size pieces by the inch rather than by a scale ratio, which is why every listing here gives its height. Everything in the Haunted Village is village scale, where an adult figure stands roughly two inches tall, so our Lemax Spooky Town and Department 56 Halloween Village pieces sit together correctly. They are not proportional to the 28mm/32mm terrain in our Haunted Cemetery, which is built for tabletop gaming and runs smaller. Both are lovely. Just do not plan one scene across the two.
